Announcements
This is the 30th issue of EdTech@NSCDS, an occasional newsletter for the faculty at North Shore Country Day! Back issues can be found here. The current issue focuses on making thinking and learning visible using ed tech. Learn how to take a screenshot on our iPhone or iPad and mark it up and consider using the Explain Everything app in your classes. I've also included a few professional readings that also relate to this theme!
Also, you might be interested to know that February 5th is Global School Play Day and World Read Aloud Day; February 3-7 is Black Lives Matter at School week of action.
Next weekend, NSCDS lower school students will be participating in the regional Destination Imagination tournament at Wilmette Junior High. Led by team managers Annie Collins and Maggie Storino, assorted second and fifth graders will present solutions to challenges that they have been working on for the last few months completely on their own and will also participate in instant challenges. Donna Fernandez, Lucy Gray, and a few NSCDS parents will be serving as appraisers for this tournament. Good luck to all involved!
Finally, are a few important announcements from the Ed Tech Department!
- Please RSVP TODAY for tomorrow's (February 4) Lunch & Learn. Click here to sign up. Our topic will be Accessibility and the iPad. We will also go over Apple's Screen Time settings as well. Come find out how you can leverage accessibility features for yourself and your students. Those registered so far include Claire, Caitlin, Drea, Beatrice, Carmen, Julia, Cristy, and Tobye!
