Pinnacle Peak Preparatory
WELCOME BACK! The first day of school is August 10th.
WELCOME TO THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR
Dear PPPS Families,
I am so excited to get the new school year started! This year at Pinnacle Peak is going to be amazing!! We are going to learn so many new things, and improve on the things we learned last year.
We are excited to welcome students, families, and volunteers back in to the building. We will be doing this with safety in mind. You will see in areas below we are recommending all un-vaccinated people wear masks while in the building. We will still be doing our best to provide space between students in the classroom and cafeteria. We will also be washing/sanitizing hands on a regular basis.
We will be following district guidance regarding masks. While recommended in certain situations, masks will be optional for the 2021-2022 school year. Despite many members of our community urging us to uphold a face mask requirement for those who are not eligible to be vaccinated, state law, which went into effect on July 1, 2021, prohibits school districts from implementing mask mandates.masks will be optional for the 2021-2022 school year.
Please read carefully through this newsletter as there is a lot of important information, especially for families new to Pinnacle Peak.
Just a reminder of school hours:
Kindergarten: Bell rings at 8:10am and dismissal is at 2:30pm.
Grades 1-8: Bell rings at 8:10am and dismissal is at 2:45pm.
First day of School is August 10th.
I am looking forward to seeing you all SOAR like Eagles!!

DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP
You may drop off at either end of the building beginning at 7:50am. We will NOT be doing the staggered start we did last year. The morning bell rings at 8:10am. Anyone arriving after that time needs to enter through the office to sign in late.
PLEASE have an 8x10 or larger sign with your child's name in the front window of your for afternoon pick-up. It is super helpful to keep the line moving. Thanks!
Buses
PV Schools will continue to follow the federal requirements for face masks on school buses. Bus routes are being updated. Please check the transportation department website the week of August 2nd for the most up to date stop locations and times.
Volunteers/Visitors
We are happy to welcome back volunteers/visitors to the school this year to help serve the academic needs of our students.
All volunteers/visitors must be scheduled with a staff member. We will be allowing 1 visitor/volunteer in each classroom at at time.
If you would like to attend field trips you will need to be finger printed and approved through the district. Visit the district volunteer site to learn more.
We will not be allowing visitors at lunch for at least the first quarter. This is a time of the day all students will have assigned seats and masks off so we want to keep the space as open as possible.
CALLING ALL PARENTS/GUARDIANS
Just a reminder that every family must complete the Annual Update in Infinite Campus. The online version of our Annual Update process is now available for the 2021-2022 school year. The Annual Update allows you to make any updates to your contact information such as address changes, phone number changes, changes to a child’s health history, as well as update emergency contact information. This will replace the printed Emergency Card.
- Please go to portal.pvschools.net.
- Select More and then Annual Update.
- You may also click the Annual Update link on the Announcement Page.
Need help? View our Annual Update Smart Card.

Quarantine/Isolation
We are aware of the ongoing state-level conversations about quarantining. While our process, provided to us by the MCDPH, Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), and the CDC, remains virtually unchanged from the 2020-2021 school year, we continue to watch for guidance and will revise our plan as necessary.
At this time last year's protocols remain the same.
Student Showing Symptoms:
Will be sent home for 10 days. If they receive a negative test they can return to school. We will continue to offer testing for students at school when needed.
Student Exposed To a Positive Case:
Will be sent home for 10 days. Can be tested following day 5. If they receive a negative test after day 5 they can return to school.
NO Online Options Available:
There will be no online teaching options this year. If a students needs to stay home, we will provide work either via google classroom or in paper packets.
