Principal's Corner
Dear BGV Families,
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! I hope that you had a relaxing and enjoyable Summer. I am looking forward to hearing student’s stories of their adventures and getting to know each of you better over the course of the year.
As we work together this year, communication is important. Please continue to look for our newsletters, emails, and phone calls throughout the year. You can also reach out to your child’s teacher or myself at any time if you have questions or concerns. Your involvement in school is important in ensuring success for your child.
The teachers and staff have been working hard over the past couple weeks to get ready to welcome your children on August 17th for our Open House Night. We are getting excited for another great year of learning. This year, in addition to being responsible, respectful, and reasonable, we will be working on instilling grit and perseverance in our students. We believe that these traits are essential for students to learn. We welcome your support in encouraging these traits in your children at home as well as at school.
Thank you for your continued support for our schools.
Josh Noteboom
Elementary Principal
A Note from Mr. Cantrell
Dear BGV Parents,
In the Spring of 2018, BGV Trustees approved BGV administrators to hire an Elementary Principal/Instructional Coach. BGV’s Executive Leadership Team received more than 20 applications for this position and interviewed more than a dozen qualified candidates. Among these candidates, Mr. Josh Noteboom was offered the position of Elementary Principal/Instructional Coach due to his mission-match qualities, his practice experience as an Assistant Principal in Kuna and his high-character references from those in the educational community.
Starting this fall, Mr. Cantrell will train Mr. Noteboom to take over the Elementary Principal roles - Mr. Cantrell will continue in his the roles of Superintendent and Special Services Director. Mr. Burk will continue serving as our Rimrock Principal.
We’re very pleased to invite Mr. Noteboom into the BGV educational community and look forward to working with him.
Ryan Cantrell

Kailee Quinn
Hello all,
There are so many things I want to share, but for now, I will just share a few prominent aspects of what has contributed to the person I am today. I was born in Arizona in 1996 and our family moved to Telluride, Colorado in 2000. When I attended grade school, I learned how to ski and first became interested in teaching.
And then in middle school, I started to play the flute, got into basketball, and took my first leadership position as an 8th grade peer mentor for incoming 6th graders. In high school, I was heavily into basketball, Special Olympics, tennis, marching band, and academics. I created strong relationships with my teachers and peers that furthered my desire to become a teacher and sparked an interest in working with students with disabilities.
I graduated from Montrose High in 2014 before attending Boise State to pursue a Dual Certification in Elementary and Special Education. There, I was involved in the Honors College, founded an organization for Teacher Education (Teacher Ed Ambassadors), peer mentored through a transition program (PREP Academy), and made so many life long relationships. I cultivated my deep passion for students with disabilities and for teaching through the opportunities I was provided in the College of Education at Boise State.
In the 2017-2018 school year, I was able to student teach in a 3rd Grade classroom for the Fall, and a K-3 Resource Room for the Spring at Morley Nelson Elementary. Working with students with disabilities on their goals, being able to document and see the trends in growth, and creating meaningful relationships with students and their families is exactly what I believe I am made to do.
I graduated from Boise State in the Spring of 2018 and accepted a job here as the K-5 Special Education/Title I Reading teacher.
I recently moved into one of the district houses in Bruneau and am eager to make friends and experience this beautiful area. I enjoy hiking and playing basketball, napping, coloring, trying new foods, and making new friends. Please come introduce yourself and get to know me. I am so excited to share this next school year with you all.
Alex Meyers
I was raised in Grand View and graduated from Rimrock Jr. Sr. High School in 2009. After high school I attended the University of Idaho where I graduated in May 2013 with a degree in Elementary Education. This is also where I met Britnie. We got married March 2017 and are expecting identical girls the beginning of September. We have 2 dogs, Buddy and Tucker and 1 crazy kitty, Luna. I am excited for our new adventure that will be coming soon!
I am beginning my 6th year teaching. My first three years have been at Rimrock. I taught various middle school courses focusing mostly on the 6th grade. The following 2 years were at Grand View Elementary teaching the 2nd and 3rd grades. I am excited to join the Bruneau Elementary staff. I look forward to working with the staff, students, and parents. This year will be a learning experience for both myself and the students.
Congratulations to Penny Jones
And she will tell you, "It's been the best job ever."
After 17 years, Penny will be retiring this summer to spend more time with her family, but you can bet her commitment to strengthening families and educating children will never change.
Congratulations Penny! Thank you for all of the work you have done and the difference you have made over the years to the children and families in your community.
