Principal Post
We are working diligently to prepare for the upcoming school year and getting excited to see everyone again!
You should be receiving class placement postcards in the mail toward the end of next week (August 3-5). Our staff has worked diligently to appropriately place students into classrooms where their needs can be met. We also took into consideration parent information that we received. Therefore, we will not be switching classes at this point.
New Student Orientation will be held in the Shaw gym on August 10th at 9:00am. Teachers will not be here for the orientation, but new families will get important information and be able to tour the school.
This year, we will be having our annual Open House/meet and greet on Thursday, August 11. Students with last names of A-L can attend from 4:00-4:45 and students with last names of M-Z can attend from 5:00-5:45pm. We are trying to avoid being too crowded so please try to adhere to these times. You can park in the front AND back of the building. If you ordered an Edukit, it can be picked up at this time.
Students in grades 1-5, with the last names of A-L will start school on August 15th (then off for August 16th) and students with the last names beginning with M-Z will start school on August 16th. This staggered start schedule will allow our staff to teach students routines and cleaning procedures. All kindergarten students will need to take the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (required by Ohio Department of Education) and will receive a letter with a specific time and date to be individually assessed. Their staggered start day is also listed in the letter. The letters will be mailed out early next week.
We have some new faces and spaces at Shaw this year…
Mrs. Abigail Fleck will be teaching kindergarten in Room 16 (she comes to us from Parkwood)
Mrs. Makenzie Kelly is also joining our kindergarten team in Room 15 because Mrs. Prince moved to 1st grade in Room 19. Mrs. Huffman moved to second grade in Room 45.
Mr. Jacob Shaw will be teaching 4th grade this year, in Room 46
Miss Emily Clark is joining our team as a title reading teacher
Mrs. Carla Lee will be our full-time Art teacher (she comes to us from Trebein)
Mrs. Leona Brunz will be our “new” (she subbed nearly every day with use last year) Special Needs Assistant
Miss Mariah Crawford will also be joining our Special Needs Assistant team
Mrs. Jaclyn Padak will be teaching on our ELL team (she comes to us from Fairbrook)
Mrs. Katelyn Clark will also be joining our ELL team
Mrs. Donna Bereda (formally Hill) is also moving to the ELL team
We are all putting the finishing touches on everything for the school year and getting ready for your children to come and have a great year!
Looking forward to seeing everyone very soon.

(Action Required) -- Bus Route Request for 2022/2023
We are excited to share a new process for requesting and declining school bus transportation for the 2022/2023 school year for Beavercreek City School (BCS) students and all BCS Greene County Career Center students.
We ask parents/guardians to review and submit the 2022/2023 BCS Transportation Request Form for each of your children enrolled for the 22/23 academic year by May 19, 2022.
Students are not automatically routed on a bus. Bus routes are created each year, and only include families who request this service. If you live in a non-transport zone, it is not necessary to submit this form.
Families who do not need transportation are asked to fill out the form to decline service.
