Camp Mi-Bro-Be Parent Meeting
It’s that time of year that we start talking about and planning for the historic Camp-Mi-Bro-Be 6th Grade field trip. Since 1972, 6th grade students in the Berea City School District have been participating in an outdoor education experience. This tradition will continue starting in September 2020 when the Berea City Schools sixth graders will have the opportunity to attend Camp Mi-Bro-Be for a week of exciting outdoor education.
This year we will be inviting all 5th grade parents to a Camp Mi-Bro-Be Parent Meeting on Thursday, March 19th, 2020 at 6:30pm in the BMMS auditorium. During this meeting we will talk about many things such as:
The whole Camp-Mi-Bro-Be experience
Details surrounding the daily life at camp
Mrs. Becky Elder-School Health Manager regarding food allergy concerns, medication needs/concerns, etc.
Mr. Len Muni, Director of Camp Mi-Bro-Be
We encourage you and your child to attend this informative meeting and stay for the
question and answer time at the end. We look forward to the experiences and life-long memories your child will make by attending Camp Mi-Bro-Be.

Student Gmail Information
Our school provides all students with a Google Apps account. That account gives students access to Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar, and Google Sites.
Because Google Apps provides email and collaboration abilities for students, it is critical that we provide appropriate safety measures for the proper use of these tools. This document will cover the main safety measures we have in place.
We provide a document that addresses use, misuse, and consequences related to the Google Apps tools (and all other technology services). All parents and students are required to read the AUP in the student handbook.
Student Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) - This document covers how technology is and is not to be used in our educational setting. The AUP is available on our website for reference 7540.03.
Parents and students are encouraged to review this document.
The Gmail accounts provided to our students are only for use as specified below. This is to provide another way for students to communicate with their teachers, and for students to collaborate together on group projects. The following limits are set on email use:
9-12 High School students can email staff, other HS students, and outside the domain (bereaschools.org) for school-related business, such as college applications, scholarship applications, contest information, etc.
5-8 students can only email within the domain. They cannot send or receive email from outside the school domain (bereaschools.org accounts).
K-4 students cannot send or receive email unless by special request of teachers for a grade band and under their supervision.
For K-8-- students, because no email can come in from outside of the school district, students will not receive spam, unsolicited messages, or anything inappropriate from the outside world. Also, students cannot send messages to people who are not staff or students in our district.
Email that is sent within our district is monitored and filtered based upon content.
Rules/filters are set up to monitor student email for profanity, harassment, and other inappropriate content.
Student email that is identified as inappropriate will be blocked from delivery, and instead will be sent to the school administration for review.
Student email accounts use the same usernames and passwords that students use for all of their Google Apps for Education accounts in our district.
The student’s username is their normal Google Apps for Education login: e.g., (last name, first initial, day of birth)@bereaschools.org
Passwords are assigned
Using the same ID and password used for the G. Suite accounts, parents have access to their students’ email accounts as needed. If a parent does not have their student’s password, this information can be provided by the main office of each school building.
If you have any questions, please contact the building administrator or the Technology Director (vturner@bereaschools.org)
