The Director Kirby Dick is informing viewers of sexual assault in colleges because of how much the victims problems have been ignored. In the Documentary "The Hunting Ground" Kirby Dick wanted to inform viewers of the story of sexual assault victims, the failure of responses to victims by college, and the treatment given to the suspect by using the three elements pathos, logos and ethos.
Ethos
Ethos was used by getting the girls who experienced sexual assault and being ignored by the school system to speak about what happened to them. It's effective because you see how they felt at that moment.
Pathos
The hunting ground used pathos to appeal to people emotions by using music that's popular to make people feel happy to go to these colleges. These colleges aren't bad but they really aren't that good because they try to cover up the bad.
Logos
The hunting ground uses the element logos by using statistics such as "More than 16 percent of women are sexually assaulted in while in college". Shows some evidence in the movie to prove his point and inform the audience
Conclusion
In conclusion the three elements Ethos, Pathos, and Logos helped Kirby Dick to inform viewers of the sexual assault victims problems within the school system. The treatment to the victims and towards the suspects was very different and not In a good way. Kirby Dick showed us the life of a sexual assault victim.
