Independence Day - Library Closure
“Build a Better World” and join our Summer Reading Program. Kids and teens are invited to participate in our reading challenges, science and math themed activities, and free special events. You can now pick up program details at the library or download the materials from our website. Read to win free books and enter to win a Kindle! A library card is not required to participate.
Special Events include a STEM Series, Reptile Show, and Silly Saturdays!

"I’m excited to be working at Upper Skagit Library - a dream come true! I look forward to getting more involved with the Concrete community. I was born in Skagit County and raised in Whatcom County. I have lived in Concrete for three years now with my husband and two young daughters. I enjoy reading J.K. Rowling, Jane Austen, Neil Gaiman, and Ransom Riggs. I am willing to read any recommendations made by patrons."

Barbara Jean Hicks, the Story Queen and local Ferndale author, returns to Upper Skagit Library for a reading of her newest book, Once Upon a Parsnip. Barbara will get kids excited about healthy eating during summer gardening season and all year around. Meet the author and purchase personally signed copies of her book. Free and open to everyone. Bring the family and join us as Barbara “makes the world a better place--one veggie at a time."

Reptile Show Returns - July 28
Son of the Reptile Man

Alligators, Snakes, Iguanas, and More Oh My! We are excited to welcome back, Son of the Reptile Man, Isaac Peterson. Learn about exotic reptiles from around the world. Pet a reptile following the performance! The event will be held on the library lawn. Free and open to all ages young and old - adults also love this show so don't miss it.

Silly Saturdays
Kids, Saturdays in July are Silly! Find 5 silly things in the library and win a small prize. Stop in anytime between open hours (10am to 3pm) and search the library from top to bottom for unusual items.....like a mystery.
