Bandon School District announces three openings on its Budget Committee, for a three year term expiring 6/30/2026.

The Budget Committee reviews the District’s budget and recommends needed changes. The Committee conducts business in evening public meetings held between May and June. The Budget Committee also approves the Budget Document and forwards it to the School Board for adoption by the end of June.

Interested people who are registered voters living within the district boundary should submit a letter of interest postmarked by 1/31/23.

The speech team is headed to Forest Grove this weekend to compete in the Hap Hingston Forensics Invitational at Pacific University. This is our first two-day tournament, with the students competing in individual events all day Saturday, and then debate events all day Sunday. The 11 students going will be competing in 10 different individual events and two different debate events. The Top Individual Event Sweepstakes winner will receive a scholarship, should they enroll at Pacific University in the future!

The annual Bandon Dunes basketball tournament took place on December 28th - 30th with 24 teams competing from all over the state. Kennedy High School and North Douglas High School won both the boys' and girls' varsity divisions, while Siuslaw High School and Pacific High School won both the boys' and girls' JV divisions. The Bandon Athletic Department would like to thank all of the hotels, staff, volunteers, and teams for attending and making this tournament possible. We would also like to thank Bandon Dunes for sponsoring our tournament, the Bandon Booster Club for coordinating and organizing the hospitality room, and everyone who donated food and meals to the coaches and officials throughout the tournament.

All of our students should have recently signed a behavior agreement form that acknowledges that they have reviewed the student handbook, and know what the behavior expectations are at HLMS. We would appreciate it if you could take a moment to review the student hand book (link below) as well.
