Staff Newsletter - Week of 01/28/19
STEAM Night was a HUGE success! Thank to the planning team and everyone who supported this event. The students and the parents really enjoyed the entire night. It was hard to get them out of the building.
Thanks also to Mona and DeAnna for doing a great job helping the parents understand how our students are being exposed to coding during the Title I Parent Session. The hands on activity was a great way for them to engage in the actual work. Thanks to Canaan Land Church for donating the Osmo that was given away at the end of the session.
I know many of you have been watching the weather report. It looks like we are expecting great weather on Monday....which means we will have a fire drill :-). On Tuesday, it looks like we are expecting possible flurries and freezing rain. Now we never know if what is predicted will actually happen. However, we need to be prepared! If we do have an inclement weather day, I anticipate it being a DLD. So, please check your DLD plans to see if you need to make any adjustments and please be ready to go live if needed.
Please make sure you have returned all computers, chargers and mice to the lab. Please refer to the email I sent on Thursday for specific information. Ka'li will be taking inventory on these items on Monday morning.
Have an awesome week of teaching and learning!
Generals Salute!

Strong 4 Life Visit - Friday, February 1
The Strong4Life Challenge Team will be visiting Partee on Friday.
The team will arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to the start of school and will take part in supporting normal school activities. The purpose of this visit is to promote the Strong4Life Healthy Habits.
Participation: The team members are mindful of instructional time and are there to support what is already taking place. The team will participate in the following:
- Morning announcements: the team introduces themselves and recites the four healthy habits to reinforce the Strong4Life messaging.
- PE Classes: the team will join all PE classes for that day and participate in whatever activities the Mrs. Boards has scheduled.
- Lunch: the team joins the cafeteria staff and helps serve vegetables and fruits to the students. Once lunch concludes, their visit is complete.
T-shirts: All students and staff will be given a Strong4Life shirt to wear on Friday. Please do not send these shirts home until after the visit. Just have the students put the shirts over their clothes so that each student can participate.
Photos: The team loves taking photos of the students, teachers and staff interacting with our Challenge team. However, we need to be mindful before taking any photos. If you are aware of a student whose parent did not want them photographed, please remind that student not to get in the pictures.
