This is your newsletter, so please feel free to email and share your experiences of how you or your colleagues have used innovative strategies/resources which have contributed to pupils making excellent progress.
Helpful reminders and points to consider!
Coming up…
- Interim review. This will be completed in week 5 or 6 with your lead Tutor.
- Become familiar with the data for the classes you will be teaching. Speak with your host teachers to find out why pupils are grouped in such a way. Then put together a seating plan with data for each of the pupils, including: pupil premium, SEND & EAL etc.
- When observing teaching, remember to observe not only the teacher but how the pupils in the group interact with their peers and other adults in the room. If there are going to be teaching assistants present in your class, discuss with the host teachers the best way to deploy them effectively to support pupil progress.
- The Stage 3 Progression Map needs to be from a different Key stage to the one planned during your Stage 2 placement.
- Discuss with your SBT your 'Supporting Individuals' assignment. Decide with your SBT a pupil or a group of pupils whom you will observe, which will allow you to focus on an aspect of achievement and diversity. Remember to use the inclusive learning observation proforma.
- Lesson plans need to be sent to the class teacher 48 hours in advance to teaching the lesson, and remember to email your SEF to your SBT 24hrs prior to your mentor meeting and cc your Link Tutor in too.
