GREEN. Forest green. Sea green. Lime green. Pea green. This summer the San Antonio Public Library is all about GREEN.
The 2016 Mayor’s Summer Reading Club kicks off on June 1 with the option of registering online (www.mysapl.org/srp) or at your neighborhood branch. Members of the Reading Club receive a reading log (featuring a friendly green frog) to track the titles of the books they read. Students who read eight books (or who listen to 16) receive a summer reading certificate signed by Mayor Taylor and can select a free paperback book to keep. Completed reading logs can be submitted through the end of August.
Encouraging children to read over the summer months is one of the best ways you can support the reading skills they developed during the school year. So, make reading a family priority and don’t forget to GO to the San Antonio Public Library this summer!
2017 Quick Picks for Reluctant Young Adult Readers
(Reposted - Lorrie Roussin - TLC)
The 2017 Quick Picks for Reluctant Young Adult Readers committee is looking for teen feedback on our current nominations.
The Quick Picks list identifies titles (fiction and nonfiction) aimed at encouraging reading among teens who dislike to read for whatever reason. As such, we rely on what our teens specifically say they are interested in as well. This survey is for teens in grades 6-12 to share their opinions on teen interest books published between July 2015 through December 2016. Teens who complete this survey will be entered to win a $25 Amazon gift card. Survey closes on June 18th. Winner will be contacted by the end of June.
