Our History
Mighty Goliath Productions began in 1959 as a PTA fundraiser for Eastview Elementary School. Early on, members of MGP wrote, directed, and acted in annual fundraising productions. In 1968 we stepped into the world of traditional book musicals with Li’l Abner. Sometime thereafter the organization separated from the PTA to become a Community organization. At this point our proceeds began to be donated to the school’s performing arts organizations rather than a PTA.
61 years later we are still a purely volunteer fueled, community theatre fundraising organization that has donated over $275,000 to our Avon Lake City School performing arts programs. We continue to enrich our surrounding community through professional quality entertainment.
Anyone can join this storied organization on stage, back stage, or in the orchestra pit. If you have any questions about MGP, our history, or this year’s production; please reach out to marketing@ mightygoliath.com
Our Mission
We are a non-profit fundraising organization that benefits the performing arts programs of Avon Lake City Schools. Our impact enriches the cultural life of the community. We focus on our unique ability to provide a professional, fun, philanthropic theatrical experience for our volunteers and audiences alike. By purchasing a ticket to one of our performances or sponsoring our productions, you are supporting a piece of Avon Lake history and directly helping us to enhance the band, choir, drama, and orchestra programs of ALCSD.
Proceeds from our annual productions directly benefit the Band, Choir, Drama Club and Orchestra programs of Avon Lake City Schools, as well as help maintain the Performing Arts Center at ALHS. So, come out and enjoy this magical musical and support our schools!
All Dreamers Welcomed!

MakerSpace behavior expectations. Be sure to leave the space just as you found it or better
Phones – Cell phones and headphones/earbuds are no longer permitted to be used during lunch. Cell phones and headphones/earbuds will be confiscated for the day if seen at ANY time during the school day (8 AM – 3PM). If a teacher gives permission for cell phone or headphone/earbud use, it is only permitted in the classroom and during the period which the student has that teacher, not as you enter and leave the classroom. Continued violations of this rule will result in further school consequences, including removal from class trips and events, parent pick up of devices, etc.
Students were reminded that there is a school dance on Friday, February 7
Students were reminded that poor behavior can lead to a loss of privileges (8th grade class field trip in the spring, 7th grade DC trip next fall)
Finally, students were reminded about upcoming dates for scheduling next year’s classes.
High School Course Registration Process
The following are directions on how to register for classes for next year. The on-line scheduling window will open at 3:00 PM on 2/10/20 and will end on 2/21/2020 at 3:00 PM.
- Log into PowerSchool using normal ID and password
- Select “Class Registration” on the Navigation menu (left side of the screen)
- Click on the pencil icon to register for classes for each subject area.
- Select the classes that your teacher recommend, copying directly from your Course Selection sheet (if you are appealing a recommendation it will be changed at a later date)
- Make sure to select both semesters for year-long classes (for example, you will need to select both buttons for Algebra I)
- Once you have selected your classes for that subject, hit “Okay”, and a green check will appear next to the pencil
- Repeat for each subject area
- There are multiple pages for electives, listed in alphabetical order, so scroll through the pages until you see the course you would like. If it is a year-long course, make sure to pick both semesters, as the second semester may be on the next page.
- Once you have all green check marks, double-check the number of credits you are signed up for. Six credits is the minimum and is also recommended for most freshman. Seven credits is acceptable. Eight credits would be too many.
- Click on the “Submit” button to finalize your choices.
Please note that students should be completing this process under the supervision of their parents.
