April 9, WELLEMENTARY Session #4 (Final Session) OLYMPIAN WISDOM. Springhouse Middle School cafeteria, 6:30 PM. This program is the last of a series of FREE programs for elementary families entitled WELLEMENTARY. The purpose of WELLEMENTARY is to educate families on how to develop healthy lifestyle habits. Each program includes health tips, instructions for making healthy food and healthy food choices and fun physical activities that can be done as a family. At this session, families will get advice on growing a garden and hear from 2000 Olympic Gold Medal Cyclist Marty Nothstein. A bike and helmets will be raffled off as prizes. April 9-13, PHS Spring Musical “Wizard of Oz.” All five performances (7,500 tickets!!) are SOLD OUT.
April 10, Community Advisory Council, Parkland High School, 6:15 PM. This community meeting will focus on the Parkland School District Education Foundation and Community Relations Office initiatives. The public is invited to attend.
April 11, Schnecksville Annual Parents vs. Teachers Volleyball Game, Orefield Middle School Gym, Doors at 5:30 PM/Game 1 at 6:00 PM. This year's proceeds will go to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in remembrance of Mr. Hoffman.
April 16, Athletic Letter of Intent Signing, PHS Gym, 3:30 PM.
PHS athletes Jessica Cottone, Nezar Haddad, Gabriel Mosser, Matthew Smith, and Kareem Williams will make known their college selection and sign their letter of intent and scholarship papers
Parkway Manor 3rd Graders Dress Up and Display Selves as Wax Museum of Heroes
The following PHS students earned the opportunity to attend the 2014 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference after competing in various Business and Computer events at the Regional level in December.

The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) announced that Jeffrey H. Geisel, Director of Athletics at Parkland School District, has been recognized as a Certified Athletic Administrator. To earn this distinction, Jeff demonstrated the highest level of knowledge and expertise in the field of interscholastic athletic administration. The voluntary certification process included a thorough evaluation of the candidate's educational background, experience and professional contributions, as well as a rigorous, comprehensive written examination. Jeffrey is one of an elite group of interscholastic athletic administrators nationwide to attain this level of professionalism.
Parkway Manor’s 3rd graders presented language arts inquiry projects related to the theme, “Heroes Across Time.” The miniature heroes came alive when you pressed a button by their display. You can view some of their creative displays above.
The PHS Leo Club is selling rubber ducks for a Duck Race on May 18th in the Jordan Creek at Wehr’s Dam. All proceeds will benefit Chis Hristofas, a custodian who worked in various buildings throughout PSD and is battling cancer. Ducks are $10 each or buy 10 get one free. The National Honor Society is holding the annual Kidnap Your Teacher fundraiser to benefit Chris Hristofas. During the week of April 7-11, students can donate money to have their teachers kidnapped during their class periods on April 25. Students during those kidnapped periods will be treated to snacks, games, and a movie.
