The Middle Eastern Daily Times
Abbey Dittmer period 3
Egypt's Favorite Farming Tool
Silt can be related back to this chapter because it is what made Egypt suitable for farming. Silt is carried in the waters of the Nile River. When it overflows the silt is still in the water. When the waters recede the silt is left behind making the land fertile.
Desalinization is relevant to the Middle East because there are countries like Saudi Arabia that have no permanent bodies of water or rivers. They have to make use of the seawater surrounding them since they don't have bodies of water to get water from.
