A Note From the Principal
Dear Woodholme Families,
We hope everyone has been able to dig out from the over two feet of snow that affected us this past week! We are looking forward to our students and teachers returning and getting back to normal.
BCPS is currently conducting a Stakeholder Satisfaction Survey to give our stakeholders the opportunity to provide feedback to our school and to the county, so thanks for getting online starting Feb. 1st to take the quick survey to let us know how we are doing. The link for the survey is above in the newsletter.
To ensure that every student becomes proficient in a second language, Baltimore County Public Schools is in the process of implementing a Spanish-language instruction program in select elementary schools countywide. They are expanding the program for next year, and Woodholme is applying to become one of these additional Passport Schools. In order to demonstrate support from our families and our community to include with our application documents, we are asking for your feedback to show your enthusiasm for having the Passport program at Woodholme. Please click on the link below to respond and give your feedback. We appreciate your time and support!

As we just experienced, inclement weather is possible at any time during the winter months, so please check TV, online or radio news for any BCPS closings, delays or early dismissals. Please do not wait for the school or county Connect Ed phone calls or emails to notify you of closings, delays or early dismissals. We do not send the Woodholme delay or closing calls out right away in the morning so that they do not disturb families too early. Parents are expected to seek this information via the media. Please click on the link for more information if you do not know where to go for BCPS inclement weather information: http://woodholmees.bcps.org/UserFiles/Servers/Server_147540/File/Newsletters/INCLEMENT%20WEATHER.pdf
Parents who drop off students in the front of the building before school opens need to be aware that we are not able to let students into the building early, even in the cold or wet weather. Please do not drop off your child before the 9:05 AM bell rings unless your child eats breakfast at school starting at 8:55 AM. Students should remain in warm cars supervised by their parents or caregivers until 9:05 AM.
Thanks for your assistance with the safety of our students. Stay safe and warm this winter!
Sincerely,
Principal Young
