Greetings from Dr. Garcia!
Welcome back, Cougars! Classes resume on Wednesday, August 12th and while it will not be a typical start, we are eager to welcome all of our scholars to CIA. We will deeply miss having our scholars in the building, but we are committed to building a caring and inclusive online community that engages our scholars.
The first two weeks of instruction will include embedded social emotional learning, relationship building and the teaching of routines, procedures and expectations for eLearning. Our eLearning will include both live instruction and recorded lessons as well as opportunities for scholars to interact with their peers and their teachers.
On August 11th, a code will be sent to students’ emails for grades 1-8. All scholars (except those in kindergarten and French Immersion) will logon to their class at 9:00 am on Wednesday, August 12th. Our scholars will be following a modified day from August 12-21st.
Our kindergarten and French Immersion teachers will be calling to set up individual Google Meets to introduce themselves to scholars over the course of August 12th-14th. We will be providing a virtual Open House video on Friday, August 14th for kindergarten, the French Immersion program and 6th grade.
A Virtual Open House for the entire school will be held on August 20th from 4:30-6:00. More details will be shared about the Virtual Open House next week. We will also be holding textbook retrieval on August 20th and August 21st. A schedule will be shared next week.

link. Please share the link with anyone who will be supporting your scholar with eLearning. Please review the student eLearning expectations with your scholar(s).
Chromebook Distribution
All scholars will receive a Chromebook this year. Please review the schedules below.
Eventlink
Practices begin on Monday, August 10th for middle school athletes. Your scholar must be registered on Eventlink to participate. You can access Eventlink by going to the school's website. We offer boys and girls soccer, volleyball, football and cross country for scholars in 6th-8th grade. For specific questions related to athletics, please email Tracy Matlock at
