WELCOME TO MR. JUAN CORDOBA - OUR NEW HILLCREST/WHITE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
School Leadership B welcomes Mr. Juan Cordoba as our new Executive Director, joining the Northwest Network, over the Hillcrest and W.T White Elementary Feeder Schools.
Mr. Cordoba joins School Leadership B with 10 years of administrative leadership experience both in elementary and secondary schools. He began his career with Dallas ISD in 2004 as part of the Dallas ISD Alternative Certification program as a Bilingual Kindergarten Teacher at Stevens Park Elementary School where he also served as an instructional coach, academic coordinator, and testing coordinator.
Mr. Cordoba brings with him a variety of instructional
leadership experiences, including teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal. As an assistant principal at Boude Storey Middle School, he helped his campus make great accomplishments including moving from one of the lowest SEIs to the highest. Mr. Cordoba served as the principal of Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary where he helped foster a positive staff and student climate and culture, then returned to secondary through the ACE program where he served as principal of Thomas J. Rusk Middle School. Rusk showed incredible gains under his leadership including earning AVID National Demonstration school status for three years during revalidation, double-digit gains across all core STAAR contents, and tremendous increases in climate and SEI.
Mr. Cordoba was a finalist as Principal of the Year in 2016 and has been designated as a Dallas ISD Master Principal for the last two years. He attributes much of his success to facilitating strong PLCs, robust data analysis, consistent instructional coaching, and fostering inspiring relationships with all stakeholders.
Executive Director Cordoba is excited for the 2020 – 2021 school year. Though he officially starts full-time in July, he is transitioning now by attending virtual meetings, reviewing master schedule designs, participating in staff selections, and reviewing and approving Campus Improvement Plans for the Hillcrest and W.T White Elementary Feeder Schools. Please feel free to reach out to him at JCordoba@DallasISD.org
