We did it! We made it successfully through our first FULL WEEK of school. Teachers are continuing to facilitate learning as they help students build their stamina as readers, writers, mathematicians, problem-solvers, and friends. We would like to thank our families and staff for attending our Meet the Teacher nights. Our goal is to establish a trusting partnership with you that grows as the year continues.
We are already proud of our students for their effort in reviewing and/or learning our school-wide FISH expectations and behavioral procedures within the various areas of our building. At New Britton, we believe that our learning community should:
- Be There
- Make Their Day
- Choose Your Attitude
- Play Safely and Fairly
Please ask your student to share some examples of what these behaviors look like at school...and home. I have included our NBE Behavior Matrix below.
Our district NWEA assessment window opens this week. This assessment is adaptive and helps us establish a baseline for your student's learning this year. Teachers use these results to inform their instruction and to differentiate to meet the needs of our learners. This is just one measure we consider when looking at the growth of our children.
There are many ways you can support our school. Be sure to review our PTO spirit wear and mum sale information below. Purchasing these items is a great way to show school spirit, start thinking about fall weather, and raise funds for New Britton! Mrs. Brandt is also looking for volunteers in the library. Please see the information below for more details.
As always, thank you for partnering with us in education. Have a relaxing weekend!
Sincerely,
Lori Mankin

NWEA Assessment Information
The NWEA test is a computer adaptive test that students take three times per school year. The results of the test reflect the student’s academic knowledge, skills, and abilities. This test helps teachers make informed instructional decisions specific to each student. Over the next two weeks, students will complete the Fall NWEA-Reading and NWEA-Math assessments. Your child’s teacher will notify you when testing takes place. Testing results will be emailed to families via a ParentSquare message a few weeks after testing.
Families of kindergarten and first grade students will need to provide headphones that are compatible with their child’s iPad for testing. Please check your student’s iPad and verify that the NWEA app is downloaded through Mosyle Manager. Thank you!
