What are we learning?
We are working on creating stamina while reading to ourselves, reading to others and working on writing, doing poetry and working on technology. We have gone over some reading strategies for reading a book, and how to hold a book. These skills are needed as we move into a workshop environment. When the students have the skill to work independently then the teacher can move into meeting with small groups of students.
We are continuing on focusing on making connections to stories, the different themes that authors' write, and what the central idea is in the stories that we read.
We will have a new list of sight words coming home on Friday. The words are : about, any, ask,be, as. We will not have a Words Their Way sort for this week due to short week and early release.
