AIP's
If an student's Academic Intervention Plan (AIP) was shared with you, please review it so that you may become familiar with the commitments made by a student as well as beneficial strategies.
Breaks and Behavior
Keep in mind that while we are excited for Thanksgiving Break (many of our kids are too!) it can be a stressful time for students and their families. For some of our kiddos, we are their stability. With this being said, it is not uncommon for students behavioral patterns to be altered. Practice patience this week, it will be Friday before you know it!
Please complete the Bright Bites Survey by the end of the day Monday if you haven't retaken it.
Instructional Tips
The data that we gain from our Campus Common Assessments (CCAs) and our Learning Based Assessments (LBAs) allows us to gain a clearer picture as to where our students are and how well our instruction and Tier I interventions are working.
Kerr MS & Hughes MS are not our measuring stick. We will be compared to campuses like us. (Think: Southlake, Grapevine-Colleyville, Coppell, Lewisville, Plano, etc.) We will have to push our students to their MAX.
You don't have to be BAD to get BETTER!
What if I think my scores are high?
Good! This does not mean that you cannot improve though. Celebrate your students' success and your hard work. However, our goal is 100% "Met Standard" with 45% "Advanced". All students can learn. It is our job to get them there and it will definitely not be easy.
What if I think my scores are low?
It's OK. This does not mean that you are a bad teacher. There is always evidence that you and your students are doing good work. You may have some alignment issues with your instruction and assessment. Calibrate and align your instruction to the assessment and watch your scores soar.
