Eagle Edition for Families
Our scholars are on time, well rested and ready to learn
We have been overly productive here at the Academy. It is my goal to provide you will a monthly newsletter to inform you of events, changes, and celebrations which are happening here at the Academy. Our scholars have adjusted to the new faces around the building and are doing just fine.
In grades kindergarten thru third grade students and teachers are working with a Squiggle Park during their pilot launch, during this time teachers and students will work with the builders of the program by providing feedback to make the product the best in can be, in exchange for this the Canadian-based company will provide the Academy with a subscription at no cost.
Grade-Six students have asked if they can form a student government this was approved and encouraged. Students will learn about the democratic process, and perhaps they may teach me a thing or two.
WE are going GREEN as our school updates announcements and activities they will be posted on the new and improved web page and via social media. Therefore, fewer flyers and announcements come home a paper format. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @times2stem.

Schmitty, the Weather Dog, will visit us on October 11, 2016.
In partnership with the Confucius Institute of URI teachers from China will cover the following topics during an afterschool program: Chinese names, families, numbers, sports and activities, Kung Fu, characters, and Chinese food. After the six to eight weeks, students will have a general idea about China and the culture. They will know how to greet, how to count in Chinese and will have a chance to experience the rich culture of China and also foster their culture awareness. Seats are limited and are on a first come first serve basis. Tentative start date set for October 27, 2016.
The Academy is proud to be partners with URI and IntraCity Greeks to provide our scholars with premium, quality afterschool programming. Please see attached flyer for more information.
Scholars of the Academy are already taking part in the Young Doctor’s Club with our partner, Brown University.
Schmitty the Weather Dog assembly will be held in the gym October 11, 2016, 9:40-10:40- grades 1 and 2 11:00-12:00 grades 3 and 4.
October 14, 2016, the PTO will kick-off a Chistoline presentation to students, selling materials will be released on that day.
Grade-Six students will participate in the US Sailing 's STEM Educational Series, with our partners from Community Boating. All students will have an opprtunity to participate by homeroom.
October 24, 2016, a Flu Clinic will be held in the Academy High School cafeteria.
10. Thanks to all the parents who were able to make Chat and Chew with me on September 30.
- Students arriving after 8:00 A.M. are late, please turn off your car and walk your child inside and sign them in, this is for their safety.
- If your scholar is late, please ensure you feed them before bringing them to school, no one can learn on an empty stomach.
- Students should be in full uniform each day. If you needed assistance, please speak to Ms. Galloway or Ms. Martinez.
- Thank you for reminding students to be kind to their fellow classmates and adults in supervision.
