Parent Visitation Day is November 17th
American Education Week will be recognized November 14th – 18th, 2016. This is a time for schools across our nation to share and interact with their community. I would like to invite you to join us on Thursday, November 17th, between the hours of 8:35 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., to visit your child’s classes.
Additional parking will be available near the tennis courts. Our PTO will have a table set up in the lobby to sign you in, provide name tags, and to answer membership questions. Upon your arrival, please sign in at the registration table and pick-up a visitor’s badge. Please check with your child as to what class he/she will be in during the times you plan to visit.

National Junior Honor Society
Applications must be returned to the counseling center or to Mr. Ganoe by November 18th. Students will also need to plan on staying after school on one of the following days to complete an essay. Possible days to stay after school are 11/29, 11/30, 12/1, 12/6, 12/7, and 12/8.
Only completed applications will be forwarded to the NJHS committee for review. If you have any questions about the process please contact Mr. Ganoe. ganoerom@wcps.k12.md.us.
Attention 8th Grade Parents!
High School Planning
Eighth grade students in Washington County have many options for High School Programming. Different programs can be found on the Washington County Public Schools Website. The high school program of studies is a great place to start and can be found at http://wcpsmd.com/academics/curriculum. Please encourage your 8th grader to stop by the Counseling Center if they have questions.
Barbara Ingram School for the Arts (BISFA) is currently accepting applications for the 2017-2018 School Year. The application is due on December 2, 2016 to BISFA. You can find the application at http://wcpsmd.com/schools/high-schools/barbara-ingram-school-arts or have your student stop by the Counseling Center for a copy.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Program is having an information session on November 11, 2016 from 4:30-6:00pm in the North Hagerstown High Media Center. Applications for this program can be found on the North High Website at http://wcpsmd.com/schools/high-schools/north-hagerstown-high .
Box Tops Update
Our first mini-contest is underway and will run until November 21. The class who brings in the most Box Tops for that month will win a free sub for each student from Jimmy Johns!

Food and Necessities Drive
Boonsboro Middle School is creating a food pantry within our school to support our families who may need assistance. A special thank you to Ms. Riley Bak and Ms. Kinsey for their work on this project! In order to get this project off the ground we currently have a Food and Necessities Drive set up.
The following items are being collected:
- Food: Perishable & Non-perishable
- Necessities (priorities): Personal hygiene, gently used clothes & shoes (NEW socks & underwear), and school supplies
