Titan Staff News
Week of May 23
Titans,
This week we have the opportunity to honor and showcase the hard work of our students. As we prepare for our annual Titan Awards Assemblies, be sure to share with the students the appropriate decorum and necessary behavior expected in the assemblies. This is one of our most highly attended events and I have no doubts our students will rise to those expectations.
Just as we laughed and enjoyed our students at the Staff/Student games today, I encourage you to do the same this week during Titan Cup. The relationships you've grown with your students will stay with them for a lifetime. Thank you for being you!
Have a great weekend,
Kim

** Book Fair All Week! **
Important Information
- The Book Fair will be the library all week! Encourage your students to stop by and see the books. They are also able to purchase titles used for summer reading in the ELA classes.
- Titan Awards Assemblies are on Tuesday. Please dress professionally please - no jeans passes. This is our time to honor our students!
- Thank you to those who participated in the Student/Staff volleyball and basketball games. Thank you to Espinosa for organizing the event. The Student/Staff games are an important piece of the unique culture of Tidwell. The crowd, staff and student body loved it!
- Just a reminder...unless it's a special situation, remember to enter absences in Aesop as soon as you know you'll be out for Personal or Family Illness. The quicker we get absences in the system, the better chance we have of getting the subs we need.
- Titan Cup...help us guide students in adhering to the dress code this day. It is imperative that ALL staff members remain with their student groups all day. Teachers may wear shorts, but please be cognizant of the length of your shorts.
- End of Year Checkout will be emailed to you Monday.
- If you notice students wearing blankets, please redirect them to the APs suite where we will hold the blankets until the end of the day. We are a middle school...not a day care.
- Thank you to Malone, AKA The Wish Committee, and her dedication to make 8th graders dreams come true!
- Please note we do not give Final Exams early to students. If they will be absent during exams, they are to discuss and make arrangements with their AP and counselor.
Sweatin' in the PLCs
You've worked hard this year to grow and become successful in your PLCs. After a long journey focused on improving instruction and student achievement, you have reached your final official week of PLCs of the 2015-2016 school year. While I know there have been harried moments, difficult conversations and mornings you'd just rather make some copies and prepare for class, BUT our work in PLCs have been an integral part in the success and push forward at Tidwell this year. PLCs are the largest piece of the puzzle that will set us ahead and make Tidwell the best middle school in NISD.
May 23 - Looking Ahead
Task: Reflect as a PLC team and discuss what are 3 critical components of a successful PLC that feel need to be tweaked for your PLC to be successful next school year. These may not be something new to work on, but part of the continuous improvement we do as a campus.
