Did you attend Fox Elementary?Join fellow grads in cap and gown for senior walk, Friday, 6/7 at 2:15.
Last week some neighbors discovered a “wild” swarm of bees in Oregon Hill. Local bee experts have confirmed that those bees were NOT part of the hive installed recently by Open High students in Linear Park. Here’s what we found on inspection: the queen, newly laid eggs, larvae, and pupating new bees. In other words, the bees are happy and busy building new comb on the frames, and storing up nectar and pollen. This week students will help install the second nucleus hive. We will then have two hives, doubling the odds of having bees next spring. Are you bee-curious? We will be recruiting new students for participation in this program next year!
