Welcome
This Week in 123
In Reading, we continue with Unit 6, and will complete an inquiry project. We will learn about different types of diagrams and the information each displays, and then choose one to use for sharing our learning. We will look at concept (word) webs, flow charts, captions (to go with a picture), and Venn diagrams. Some of these we will even see in our concept book! We came up with some great questions for the unit last week: "How do living things become extinct?", "Why do we need air?", "How are plants and animals alike/different?", "How do people and animals interact?", and "How do animals grow and change?". One of these we will choose to answer in the form of a diagram. Our vocabulary word for the week is "tiny". We will review the comprehension strategy of "summarizing". Our high-frequency word that will be introduced is for.
For math this week there is a lot going on! We will start to count by 2s, learn about halves, and discuss time and measuring time.
