#svtchat Newsletter

April 2016

A Newsletter? What?

Based on some interest and some need I decided to try out a #svtchat newsletter. If you are receiving this in your email it means that you have participated in chat, answered our survey earlier in the year, or are in our Remind group. I'm anticipating sending out a newsletter at the beginning of every month. Included will be future chat topics, their moderators and a link to questions. The link to questions may just have a blank document, or a few questions, as these typically evolve until the week before the chat.

The newsletter will also include Twitter tips and tricks, information on things that have evolved from our Twitter chats, and surveys as we need them.

If you do NOT want to receive this newsletter once a month, please kindly email me at jamie.reese@simivalleyusd.org and I will remove you. You can also let me know if you have things you would like to see in the newsletter!

Summer Chat Idea

There has been some thought to what we would like to see happen with our chat over the summer. One idea that has been suggested is to do a summer book study. A book would be selected and and we would meet weekly for a Twitter chat to discuss questions based on the chapter of the week. However, before we plan this, we would like to know if people would be interested.

Please take this brief survey to help us out! Thanks! http://goo.gl/forms/Tffgvbw8oT

Taking it Further

Several of our #svtchat participants have been blogging or recently started blogging. Cori Orlando has created a website with all the links and bios of our bloggers. Blogging is a great way to extend your voice as a teacher or an admin! It is a way of continuing the 140 character conversation on Twitter, or a way to express your own thoughts on evolving pedagogy. Check out some of their recent posts!
