Kearney's Counseling Corner
This month, third grade students received a lesson about friendship. We discussed what makes a good friend. Also, students learned about how we need to make sure we are saying kind things to people. We used the idea of a “filter” to decide whether to “think it or say it”. Students practiced identifying whether a statement was something they should say to someone or think. Students then used an organizer to describe a Good Friend.
Next month, students will receive a lesson on executive functioning: controlling our impulses.
