ExcELs Scholarship - Graduate Professional Development Program
During a time when teachers need professional development support, this program provides activities for their educational career enhancement. The program seeks to address the needs of at-risk students by delivering and supporting the professional development of educators who teach in schools with high concentrations of English Language Learner (ELL) students. Teachers in the program will extend their knowledge of effective pedagogy and research-based principles for the teaching of minority students from diverse linguistic and ethnic backgrounds.
The objective of the program is to support students currently enrolled in a SMU Master’s Degree program or to non-degree seeking students whom will obtain their ESL Certification. For more information please contact The Center for Child and Community Development at cccd@smu.edu.
