VACATION TIME VS. SCHOOL TIME
As you are planning your family’s vacations for the holiday season and spring break, consider the impact the absence will have on your student.
Research indicates chronic absence affects high school graduation rates and the chances for success in college. We understand there is value in a family vacation, both the enrichment that children experience in new places as well as the special time spent with family.
However, psychologist Sara Dimerman, suggests considering the acronym
FLAG when contemplating whether to take a child out of school to travel as well as determining the duration of the trip.
Patriot Pantry
The Patriots Care Pantry is a FREE Resource for Patriot families in need. The Pantry is open every Friday from 3:20pm-4:00pm in Room 229. It is completely ANONYMOUS.
The pantry is always in need of any of these items. If you wish to donate, you can bring the items to Millard South High School. Student Council would also like to send "thank you" notes so please include your name on a sticky note. THANK YOU!

Four Girls and a Cause
Danie Dougherty, Olivia Reilly, Haley Dougherty and Abbey Dyer have campaigned to get a van for the veterans at the Victory apartments. The Victory Apartments get homeless veterans off the streets and gives them a safe place to live. The girls have requested a vehicle from car dealers, citizens from next door, Facebook and any other avenue they could think of hoping that someone would donate. Gregg Young Chevrolet stepped up with a fantastic van to donate. The girls held a garage sale and bingo night to pay for the taxes and licensing of the van for the veterans. The veterans will be using the van to take residents to the grocery store and doctor appointments. The veterans were thrilled to receive this van. Great job girls!
