IMLEA Midsummer Minute

July, 2018

Yes, although tonight's Baseball All Star Game is often called the "MIdsummer Classic," many of you are back at work, gearing up for the coming school year. We want to be sure you know that we have extended the early bird rate for our conference through August 15. There are very few opportunities to hear from such distinguished speakers geared specifically for middle school, let alone at such a reasonable price. Member schools can send a team of 5 educators for under $600 (and that includes breakfast and lunch!) We have also had some schools become IMLEA members to not only take advantage of this conference rate, but the other benefits of belonging.

Conference information can be found on our special site, or linked on the IMLEA website. You may also register now or reserve hotel rooms at our special conference rate. The keynote with Ben Glenn will be on Sunday, September 16, with six different sessions on Monday the 17th.

You can register a team now, put the same name five times, and later notifiy us exactly who is coming. Attendees may be registered by purchase order, credit card, check, or PayPal.

Amazing Back to School Book Combining Hyperdocs with Book Creator

I asked Kelly Hilton, an instructional coach from Pleasanton, CA, for permission to share this with you; what a great way to introduce so many aspects of a classroom, library, or school. You may copy and revise for your own use, but please retain a credit to her.

Scheduling Open for Service Learning Trainings for 2018-19

Consultant Beth Smith and genOn field reps have started to schedule introductory trainings around the state for the 2018-2019 school year. If your school or district would be interested in more information about these free PD opportunities at a faculty meeting, PLC time, or PD days before or during the 2018-2019 school year, contact Joan Belschwender or one of the team. Summer is also a good time to examine the many resources available from Learning to Give and generationOn, with links on our website. You may also see the team presenting at some of the Summer of eLearning conferences around the state this summer.
