Gaining Daylight Daily!
Hello Crawford families,
February can be a tough time in Alaska, and this year with all the snow it has been especially challenging. As we made it through, however, we had many high points. Many fourth grade students participated in NAEP testing. Thank you to the fourth grade students who tested in math and reading and to the fourth grade teachers who were flexible, as half of their students were out of class at a time. Parents, thank you for preparing your students and supporting the participation in this important event.
The Spelling Bee was a success, with many excellent spellers taking to the stage to earn a spot at the district Bee. Who knew that conkers was a word? Thank you to our volunteers who read the words, judged the spelling, and recorded the responses of the spellers. Elden Wier, Raiden Rusher and Lily Mazurowski represented Crawford at the District Bee at West Valley High this Saturday. See more below!
Parent Teacher Conferences were a success as well and most of our parents were able to visit with their child's teacher. Thank you to the PTO and to the parents who donated lunch for the teachers on those days. The offerings were delicious and greatly appreciated. We have the best parents and staff!
As we near Spring Break and the end of the quarter many will be making plans for Spring adventures or visits to warmer climes. We have more sunshine to look forward to and the school year is rapidly coming to a close. What a great time to become a Break Aide for Crawford and enjoy the warmer weather!
Some events we have planned are listed below, and we welcome any Anderson families to join us as we celebrate the end of the school year. We have much to look forward to as we close this era with Crawford and move to consolidating with Anderson.
