Message from the Principal
Hello parents,
Welcome to November!
We are now two full months into the school year; the time is moving quickly. Recently, some students were selected for their academic prowess, exemplary behavior, and impeccable attendance as October Students of the Month. Here are those who were chosen:
Milja Dann - 6
Jackson Powell - 6
Kellan Kaiser - 7
Anika Khan - 7
Tyler Emmons - 8
Jayla Robinson - 8
Gracie Johnson - 9
Ja'Meriah Martin - 10
Adrian Garlic - 11
Jasmine Campbell - 12
Congratulations to each of these students and their families! Being selected is such an accomplishment and speaks to their personal commitment to working hard, being consistent, and striving for excellence. Students were honored with exclusive "W" drawstring bags! You can see their pictures below.
Employees of the Month for October were also selected by colleagues. These individuals exemplify what it means to 'Keep Love Present' and that positive attitude has been noticed by many. Congratulations go out to:
AJ Latch - Jr High
Malcolm Gibson - Jr High
Sherrie Davis - HS
Junior High students had an exciting week as each day was a different theme for Spirit Week. Students represented #TheHerd in force rocking crazy hair, costumes and even mouse ears for Disney day! Since the week corresponded with our annual Jr High Costume Contest, you can see some of the outfits below. We have some creative minds in middle school! The week culminated with a pep rally Friday afternoon. Many students competed in games and fun races; it was a blast!
You can find the latest Have You Herd? episode produced by Video Art Design students below. There are special features including interviews with student Henry McIntyre, head football coach Anthony Reagan, current HS Employee of the Month Sherrie Davis, and art teacher Jamie Cook. Be sure to check out the video!
Senior students were also able to have their Townhall meeting that was rescheduled from last week. There are tons of events of which seniors need to keep track; if anyone ever has a senior-related question, don't be afraid to reach out to the class advisers!
Fall athletic seasons have been wrapping up with playoff wins and losses. Both the Girls and Boys soccer teams played tough, but have exited the playoffs this week. Cross Country is still in action on Saturday. The football team competes tomorrow in the first round of the Central Jersey Group I playoffs at home against Asbury Park. Whether it was magic or just poor cartography skills, somehow Woodbury ended up in the Central Jersey bracket. Quick - do you eat pork roll or taylor ham?...like jimmies or sprinkles?...munch on a hoagie or a sub?...your answers will likely confirm we are in South Jersey not Central!
Nevertheless, good luck and #GoHerd!
Next week, students only have school on Monday and Tuesday and then they are off until November 12. Enjoy the time with your family!
Keep Love Present,
Dr. Vivadelli

AVID Tutoring
Each day during HS Advisory, AVID students are helping each other with their coursework. These mini-tutorology sessions have become quite popular. They are a great example of how AVID helps set the tone in our building for what it means to be a strong student. Thank you to Ms. Fitzgerald for helping to build this type of culture in your room!
