News from School to Home

Just a reminder that we will not have ELO this week. We will continue with ELO on January 13th.

Christmas Concert

The "Celebration of Christmas" concert will be held at First Baptist Church this Thursday, December 18th. The concert will begin at 6:30 and will last no longer than 1 hour.

The dress for the performance will be your "Sunday Best" in the colors of red, green, or white if possible.

Kindergarten students- If possible bring a pair of either mittens or gloves for your first song. They will be used during the performance.

The students have worked hard on their songs and they are ready to perform. Each grade level will sing, but stay until the end. We will have a special song by a WS teacher with all students helping sing backup. It's going to be a great show!

If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Robertson. Her email is listed below.

Skateboard Parade

The skateboard parade is on Friday, December 19th at 8:30 a.m. Make a float on a skateboard and be creative! make sure it can be pulled from the front or steered from the back. Bring it to school on Friday and put it in the gym along the wall. You will also take it home on the 19th.

I can't wait to see all of the fun floats!

Family Reading

We are very excited with all of the participation we have had with our family reading bingo. This project was to encourage students to not only read, but to read books in many different genre areas. Many students have won prizes and we draw several names each day. If you haven't participated it is not to late!! Pick up a card in the library.

Students may play and read for tickets until Wednesday, January 6th. All cards/tickets must be turned into the library by January 6th.

The Christmas break is a perfect time to curl up with a good book! Enjoy reading and good luck!!

Donation Station

Coat & Toy Drive: We will have a box in front of the office to collect new or gently used toys and coats. The items that are donated will be given to Christmas Alliance. Christmas Alliance provides food and toys for many Cabot, Austin, and Ward families.

Moby Max

Students have access to log in and play literacy and math games from home on a site called Moby Max. With our school license you have the ability to log in and play from anywhere. This is a great way for your student to get some home support and practice with educational skills. Ask your student about their login. If they can't tell you, contact your teacher for details.

We have opened a Westside Bookstore! In the bookstore we have items such as highlighters, pencils, pens, pencil sharpeners, and erasers. Items range in price from .50- $1.50. My favorite item is the iphone eraser!

The bookstore is open on the stage from 7:30-7:50 am.
