CLAIRES COURT BULLETIN

Senior Boys

FROM THE HEAD'S DESK

I spoke this week about inspiring characters. Kelly Gallagher, along with her guide Charlotte Evans, had just won our first Gold medal of the Sochi Paralympics. To be responsible for guiding a blind person down a ski slope, shows the respect the athletes must have for each other, the loyalty of the partnership and the integrity to compete at the Olympics. This very nicely mirrors our own values and definitely works as role models for us.

I have to thank four Year 10 boys who helped to ensure that the 2014 ISA 7's were a great success. Zac, Owain, Sam and Alex were outstanding in their work and were praised by all of the visiting staff.

I look forward to meeting with parents on Saturday at the Cross Country (weather forecast is good ) and the Race Night in the Evening, not quite Cheltenham but the next best thing.

National U16 Rugby Sevens

Claires Court played host at Braywick Rugby Club on Wednesday to 24 teams from across the country, for the ISA National U16 Rugby Sevens tournament.

Congratulations to Salesian, Queen Ethelburga’s, St James, Heathfield, Rookwood and North Cestrian for making it to the finals, and to Salesian for just pipping QE's in the main event. Final results

Dan Boorman, PE Teacher at Claires Court said: “Not only did we have fantastic weather, but some brilliant rugby. Our team did really well making the last four but unfortunately got knocked out in the semis. A testament to their overall performance was that earlier in the tournament they beat the team that won!”

More pictures will be on facebook and the website soon.
