High pressure remains in control throughout your Friday and even a large part of Saturday. Temperatures jump back into the 80’s today and Saturday so it will feel a bit uncomfortable. Our good friend High pressure finally will be pushed out Saturday evening by a mean Cold front that will bring us moisture. We will see some rain late Saturday, and Sunday will also be wet but not a washout. Memorial Day is still shaky for rain, but at this point it looks like the threat of showers will remain a possibility for Monday. Bottom line, don’t cancel that Memorial Day picnic, but stay prepared to move it to the house at a moment’s notice. Now to Friday’s announcements.

It is open to all grades and if you missed the informational meeting yesterday you can email Mrs. Gillen or go to her room in W10 during homeroom and talk to me or Maya.
This year we are doing something new. We want to add a competitive edge, so each grade level will be supporting their own charity during the talent show and whichever grade raises the most money from admission and donations will win the competition.
To pick the charities for each grade we made a google form on your graduating class google classroom with some suggested organizations that you can pick from, or if you have another one you would rather support you may write it in. Whichever charity receives the most votes from each grade level will be their charity to support during the show and buy tickets for.
We also posted the audition sign up form in your class of google classroom. It has all the information you will need and you can print it and fill it out for your act. They are due at your audition. We are also having 3 separate audition days, all right after school in room W10. Monday May 14th will be the 6th grade audition day, Tuesday the 15th will be for 7th graders, and the 8th grade day is Wednesday the 16th, but there will not be a late bus on Wednesday so you will have to get a ride. If you cannot make your audition day, you can email Mrs. Gillen or come to W10 during homeroom to schedule a different time on a different day for your audition.
The talent show will be on Friday June 1st and tickets will be sold at the door only. We highly encourage people to audition if you have any act or talent of some sort. It will be a great, fun experience and you get to show your school spirit with some friendly competition. Even if you don’t want to be in the show, be sure to come support your friends and buy the ticket for your grade level or for the charity you want to support. And now back to the news desk.

We’ll have your weekend Weather Today report tomorrow. Now your Morning Announcements.

But next week is setting up to be phenomenal. Now to the announcements.

We will get a break from that today as temperatures crawl into the low 40’s, but with air blowing in from Canada it’ll feel a little colder than that. Weather models are suggesting that warmer weather is on the way, but until we see and feel it stay patient, this will get better. Now to your announcements.

After flakes flew overnight, we’ll see more today and add slightly to that 113-inch snowfall total that has fallen this season. We are above average on snowfall totals and below average on temperature as the thermometer will stay in the 20’s today. I guess if you like snow and cold, this has been your type of Winter. Happy Friday. Now to your announcements.

· A brief check of your Weather Today, the snow is finally beginning to wind down as it fell nonstop yesterday and caused all sorts of trouble for the morning and evening commutes. Despite the fact that the precipitation has moved out, it’s still really cold for mid-March with temperatures parked in the 30’s. In other words, there’s nothing exciting about your weather to report today as this pattern has a stronghold on us and Spring is still a ways off. Now to your announcements.

· Awesome, well I know I enjoyed doing this with all of you, and I hope everyone that got to see the play enjoyed it. Bye, Bye Birdie 2018 may be over, but here’s a montage video to recapture some of best moments from rehearsal up to opening night. Have a great day everyone and enjoy!
MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS MARCH 14, 2018 DAY 2
· Unfortunately, your Weather Today report sounds exactly like it did yesterday because nothing has changed. It is still snowing despite the fact that many of us have had our share of Old Man Winter and are patiently awaiting the air to get just a bit warmer. Temperatures are yet again in the low 30’s and won’t move. As bothered as the extended Winter may be making you, settle in, because a shift in the Weather models is giving the indication that there will be more snow and cold next week. At this point all we can do is hope for a much-improved April. Now to your announcements.
· Hey Spry, it’s Dylan
And I’m Lauren
Wait, where did you go?! I can only see your head
That’s because I’m wearing a green sweatshirt in preparation for our green spirit day this Friday
Oh, that’s right, students are supposed to wear as much green as possible to show their spirit and for the upcoming holiday.
Even if I’m not Irish?
Even if you’re not Irish! Wearing green will count towards your house spirit points because we never got a chance to finish spirit week.
Yep, the competition is still on and no one knows how it will end. Be sure to wear lots of green on Friday!
· We now go over to our principal, Mr. Baehr, who will provide some vital information about events happening in our school.
MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS MARCH 13, 2018 DAY 1
· It’s time for your Weather Today report which means that it’s time for more, you guessed it, SNOW. Flakes will fall off and on all day as another one of those Nor-Easter storms looms over Western New York. We won’t see the accumulation that some of our neighbors near us will, but it’ll be enough to slow us down a bit. Temperatures will stay where they’ve been for what seems like forever now, barely above freezing. Now to Tuesday’s announcements.

MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS MARCH 12, 2018 DAY 3
· We begin with your usual Weather Today report. After heading into last weekend with some accumulating snow, we will see some snowflakes fall from the sky today but it won’t produce much. If you were wondering, the average for Rochester is just a shade under 101 inches. Temperatures will stand firm in the low 30’s remaining pretty cold. Now to today’s announcements.

MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS FEBRUARY 15, 2018 DAY 3
· Today we would like to recognize the accomplishments of Jesse Owens. Born the son of Alabama sharecroppers in 1913, Owens emerged as a major track talent while attending high school in Cleveland, Ohio. Later, at Ohio State University, he demonstrated himself to be one of the greatest athletes in the world. In a single day of competition–May 25th, 1935–Owens broke the world records for the 220-yard dash, the 220-yard low hurdles, and the running broad jump, and equaled the world record for the 100-yard dash. The next summer, Owens and 311 other American athletes, including 17 African Americans, traveled to Nazi Germany to represent the United States at the 11th Olympiad.
· At the 1936 Berlin Olympics, Jesse Owens won his fourth gold medal of the Games in the 4 by 100-meter relay. His relay team set a new world record of 39 point 8 seconds, which held for 20 years. In their strong showing in track-and-field events at the 11th Olympiad, Owens and other African American athletes struck a propaganda blow against Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, who planned to use the Berlin Games as a showcase of supposed Aryan superiority. Now to today’s weather.
