What a busy time in education. This is the home stretch, and many of you are planning for summer. I know that there will be summer school, reading camps, STEM camps, and more. I hope you will plan to join us for some professional learning opportunities here at the Inservice Center. I am happy to share our PD Catalog with you- although it is a bit later than usual. Thank you for your patience with me, as I am in the midst of planning summer for the first time as Director.

Please don't forget to share any pictures or highlights with me so I can showcase those on our social media or newsletter.

Teachers who complete a component through NBPTS spend lots of time on that process. Dr. Melissa Shields secured an official letter documenting time spent on a completed component. This can be used by teachers and LEA's as proof of approved PD days. Teachers who complete the entire STEM Certification through NISE also spend lots of time on that process. Teachers can click on their transcript within the NISE platform and get documentation of completed hours. Here is a sample of what that looks like.

We had a successful Writing Retreat. 33 Candidates and mentors attended at the Little River Canyon Center.

Starting in January, the RIC will require that a Room Request Form be completed for your district to reserve a space. This is to help us expedite requests in a fair and timely manner. It also gives us data to report to the ALSDE regarding curriculum connections for events being held here. Thank you so much for using this form. You can also follow up with an email, but the request will need to be in the form.
