Mental Health 101

We All Have Mental Health

Be the 1 and Remember to A.C.T.

Every day in California friends, family and co-workers struggle with emotional pain. And, for some, it's too difficult to talk about the pain, thoughts of suicide and the need for help. Though the warning signs can be subtle, they are there. By recognizing these signs, knowing how to start a conversation and where to turn for help, you have the power to make a difference. Visit the Know the Signs website to learn more about warning signs, resources and ways to help. To visit the Know the Signs website click here.

If you or a friend are struggling, remember to A.C.T.

Acknowledge - acknowledge the changes you are seeing

Care - show that you care by reaching out for support

Tell - Tell a trusted adult (our counseling team is here to support)

Remember if you or a friend need help reach out for support! Some great resources include the Access and Crisis Hotline which is open 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week and can be reached at (888)724-7240, or connect with the TEXT to TALK Hotline, you can text Help to 741741 and to start texting with a crisis counselor.

Grief Supports

This has been a difficult year, many of us have experienced a loss due to the pandemic or had loved ones who passed away. Experiencing grief is a difficult thing. Grief can include feeling sad, angry, lonely; it includes the multitudes of feelings and experiences we have when we lose somebody or something we love/were hopeful about. We know that being able to talk can help us process our feelings and it can create a space for us to heal.

Elizabeth Hospice:

Elizabeth Hospice is an organization in our community that provides grief support for students and families. They have a Grief Group that is open for students throughout the year including during summer break. If you are interested in learning more about grief supports check out the resources below or connect with Elizabeth Hospice by calling them. The flyer below includes the contact information for Elizabeth Hospice. You can also learn more by clicking here to visit their website.
