Butler's Holiday Gift Giving Tree

Holiday Giving Program…

A great way to offer comfort and support to Butler families this

holiday season.

Beginning November 29th, the Butler Giving Tree will be on display in the hallway near the main office. The Giving Tree will have tags that display the names of holiday gifts that can be donated for families in our Butler Community who are in need of extra support this holiday season. We invite our Butler students and families to choose a tag (if they wish) to purchase the gift listed. We ask that you wrap the gift and be sure to secure the same tag to the outside of the gift wrap.

All gifts should be delivered to the main office no later than December 15th - to ensure holiday delivery. Thank you for all of your wonderful generosity and support!

Celebrate Education Week - 11/4-11/18

American Education Week is an opportunity to visit your child’s classroom and watch your children in action as they learn something new, participate in a curricular activity, or give a special presentation for visitors. This year, Central Bucks School District invites you to join us the week of November 14-18, 2022.

We invite you to come in, remembering that cell phone use while in the school is not permitted, and that this is an adults only visit - as small children may disrupt instruction during this time.

The chart below provides the designated time to come and visit so that we may concentrate efforts, and accommodate parking/traffic flow/etc. Please RSVP here so that we may plan accordingly for your time and have visitor badges ready upon arrival (to avoid delays).

Our schedule of visitation times at Butler Elementary School is as follows:

6th Grade Haunted Gymnasium - 10/21

On 10/21, the Haunted Butler Gym tradition continued as our 6th grade students created a dynamic “haunted school” for our Butler Families. Friday Night Frights (and Fun) was the theme as intermediate students and parents enjoyed the event! Students chose themes among their varied groups to engage with participants walking through the gym. It was spooky but our community enjoyed the night! Thanks to our parent volunteers and PTO for coordinating and sponsoring the event.

Kind Like Joey Spirit Day - 10/20

The partnering of Butler ES with the Kind Like Joey Foundation is more than supporting a beautiful cause... It is being there -together- during a difficult time and helping the foundation build something that greatly impacts our whole community. Joey was a former Butler student who embraced Kindness and being "there" for others when he was a student at our school. Joey passed when he was a student at Unami Middle School, but his legacy continues within our community. KLJ recently shared "kindness bags" for everyone on the Butler Staff, which was followed by a Kind Like Joey Spirit Day (10/20) for all at Butler. We continue to do our best in being more like Joey, every day.

Butler welcomed our CB South School Aged Student class for a fourth and final session on October 27th as our high school mentors completed their final projects when working in their classrooms. It is a great partnership with CB South where our teachers support high school students who have an interest in prospective careers that include working with children.

Butler Banquet - Summer Reading Incentive - Special Lunch - 10/20

Our Reading Specialists organized a reading incentive for our Butler Bears during the summer months that had a really great participation level for this year's first through 6th grade students! Many children reached their reading goals (based upon age-level/reading-level) to earn rewards upon their return to school. One goal was a Butler Water Bottle. Another was a special lunch served by the Principals! The Butler Banquet was held on Thursday, October 20th celebrating this fun summer reading incentive! Thank you to the Reading Specialists, (Mrs. Burkholder, Mrs. Meade, Mrs. Kuhn, and Mrs. Sauers), for creating such a popular event!
