September 10th Edition

Happy Friday Eagle Families!


I hope you all had a great Labor Day Weekend! This week we kicked off our Morning Fall Clubs and they were well received by our students. I am so glad we can have clubs this year. This is such a treat for students.


As stated in last week's newsletter, I want to continue to give you handbook updates. Please read the 2021-2022 updates to the yearbook listed below:

Attendance - It is important that you be in school every day unless you are sick. Please bring in a note from your parent/guardian on the day you return to school – no later than three days from your return to school. The note should communicate the day(s) you were absent and the reason you were absent. It can also be a note from the doctor’s office.

Bell Schedule

8:40 a.m. Tardy/Warning Bell

8:45 a.m. Start of daily Eagle Eye Broadcast

3:20 p.m. Dismissal begins

Birthday Treats - Birthdays can be celebrated with ice cream purchased from the school or prepackaged snacks, such as factory sealed cookies or chips. This will minimize touch points to keep our school safe.

Gwinnett County Public Schools will have an asynchronous learning day on Tuesday, September 14. ALL students will be learning from home. Students should log into eCLASS to work independently on assignments.

Meals will be delivered along all bus routes countywide. Families should expect buses to run their routes from approximately 10:45 a.m. to noon, beginning at the first stops on the route. Like meals served at school, these delivered meals are provided at no cost under a federal waiver.

CogAT Testing is around the Corner!

Test details via email, will be sent out early next week!

GCPS encourages families to submit meal applications through Oct. 21

While breakfast and lunch will be provided at no charge for all GCPS in-person and digital students this school year, it still pays to complete the Free and Reduced-price Meal Application. Families whose students would be eligible for meal support in a typical year should complete the application as soon as possible.

First Grade Book Bags

Coming Soon!


First Grade students will be bringing home books in Ziploc bags starting on Friday, 9/10.

Ziploc bags will be refreshed every 2 weeks. Using these books, parents, please read with your child each night. Resources to guide you on how to support your 1st grader's reading progress, will be included!

Important Health Update

If a student, parent, sibling or someone in your home is being tested or has been tested for COVID-19, the student must stay home until the results obtained. A copy of the negative test results must be given to the school upon return.
