Stu Co is sponsoring a Pennies for Pasta campaign benefitting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. 3rd Period classes will collect money the week of December 7. The 3rd period that collects the most has a choice between Olive Garden or a pizza party for lunch!

NJHS Announcements:

The National Junior Honor Society wants to thank all those who brought donations for the homebound with Meal for the Elderly. We were able to take them two box loads of goodies, and they were most appreciative. They were happy to have things to provide for those who cannot get these items on their own. They want to thank all who participated.

A special shout out to Mrs. Knapp's Awesome 2nd Period--a 6th grade class that brought in the most items by far! Way to go, guys!

NJHS would like to congratulate Ms. Davis for winning the student votes for December's Teacher of the Month. Have a great month and know that you are loved! Thank you, Ms. Davis, for all you do.

A Note from Coach Freeman and Girls Athletics:

Lee Girls Athletics is hosting the 7th and 8th Grade Girls B Tournament on January 22 and 23. As hosts for the tournament, we will need to provide a hospitality room for coaches, officials, and workers. We would appreciate it if parents could be in charge of setting up and working the hospitality room. This would mean getting the food and drinks, setting up, and working the room on the tournament days. We also need help calling local businesses for donations and scheduling parents to work.

Coaches will be working, and it would help us tremendously if parents could be in charge of the room. If you are interested in helping, please call 947-3871, extension 142 or email minerva.freeman@saisd.org. We appreciate your help and support.

ATHLETICS SCHEDULES:

REMINDER FROM THE ATTENDANCE OFFICE

Please remember that we must have a phone call anytime your student is absent (947-3871 ext. 106) and a note explaining the absence within three days from when they return to school. Remember attendance is checked every period, so if a student misses an entire day or part of a day, it is considered an absence. Also, any student who misses more than 10% of the school year (18 days) is at risk of mandatory summer school or failing for the year.

Feel free to call At-Risk Coordinator, Mrs. Sanchez at 947-3871 ext. 117 or Attendance Clerk, Mrs. Schmidt at 947-3871 ext. 106 with any of your attendance questions.
