From the Principal

Hello Graham Family,


Our first PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) meeting went well! We have a lot of exciting events planned for the near future and we would love to have your help. Homecoming is quickly approaching. Please stay tuned for information on how you can get involved. Be sure to have a completed volunteer form on file at the school. Stop by the office if you need a form or have any questions.


Our caregivers and students have been doing a great job with drop-offs and pick-ups.

  • Arrival - Parents/Caregivers are expected to walk TK and Kindergarten students to the front door. Door to the school opens at 8:15 am.
  • Breakfast - Starts at 8:15 am. Parents/Caregivers should pull to the very end of the lane along the school and drop their student off. There is a sign with an arrow pointing to the door.
  • Any student who arrives late to school after 8:32 am must come to the front office door to sign in with an adult.

Thank you for working with our staff to help the morning and afternoon run smoothly!

Students arriving after the start of school at 8:32am MUST be signed in in the office by an adult.


TK and Kindergarten caregivers MUST pick up their student at the main entrance.

Student Absences

If your child will be absent, please call the Graham Attendance Line at (248) 537-6810. The line is available 24 hours a day/7 days a week. If your child is absent due to a medical appointment or illness, a doctor's note helps to excuse your child's absence.

Medication/Illness

Medication must be kept in the office. Students must have documentation signed by a doctor on file in order for medication to be administered at school. Over the counter medication cannot be administered to students without a note from a doctor as well.


If your child is sick (fever, vomiting, covid-symptoms), please do not send them to school. We diligently try to prevent the spread of illness. If your child goes home from school sick with a fever (100+), they must be fever-free without fever-reducing medicine for 24 hours before returning to school. This standard is set by the Oakland County Health department.


If your student tests positive for Covid, please contact our Health Department Nurse Lourdes Lopez at 947-235-1067 for further guidance.

Popcorn and juice Fridays

A big thanks to the team of volunteers who help the PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) with our popcorn and juice Fridays! Featured today is Gloria W. The PTO would love to have your help supporting our school!


And don't forget, popcorn and juice are only $.50 each and orders are picked up in the classroom by 8:45am each Friday and delivered to the classroom at noon.

This is the school organization that helps raise money and plans all school events.

Substitute Teachers Needed!

The Avondale School District is looking for teacher substitutes. The State of Michigan requires candidates to have 60 College Credits. All substitute permits require that an individual has completed at least 60 semester hours of satisfactory credit (defined as a grade of 'C' or higher) combined from one or more regionally accredited colleges or universities. Please apply at EduStaff.org. The daily pay rate is $120.00 and district substitutes earn a daily pay rate of $150.00.
