What's Kicking with BSC?
Academy
To Players and Families,
For Our Athletes
The club is excited to announce the BSC Skills World Cup!
The club will be holding a competition for players in each age group focusing on individual skills they can work on while they are home. We will be hosting a day of competition when we are all able to safely get together again. For each age group there will be awards for each skill, as well as an overall champion for all the skills.
We will be sending out a series of announcements regarding the skills to be practiced over the next week, so make sure you read the newsletters that will follow.
First 2 Skills
Juggling
Points will be awarded for the number of juggling touches achieved. You can use any part of your body to keep the ball up!
Turns
This exercise will work on 180 degree turns. To work on this place 2 cones (or anything … shoes, soccer balls) 5 yards apart. You will have 30 seconds to see how many turns you can do (any turn - either foot). Remember the ball must completely go past the cone each time before you can make the turn.
- Practice your turns - The better and quicker you do the move, the quicker you will be able to dribble back the other way.
- The closer you do your turn after you go by the cone will allow you to do more turns. This means dribbling quickly but remaining in control

Club Update as of 4.15.20
A quick note to provide an update regarding all BSC Academy activities. The governing bodies of our leagues have not made the decision to cancel the traditional spring seasons and are remaining hopeful they will be able to provide safe options for league competition. So, as with everything, we are on hold. Of course, plans moving forward are contingent on decisions made by federal, state and local governments, as well as the governing bodies of our soccer leagues. Please understand no decisions have been made at this time regarding activities moving forward, as all are awaiting the next announcements regarding the social distancing policies beyond April 30th. Be assured the BSC will closely monitor the situation and, once we have additional information from the government and our soccer organizations, will make decisions regarding how to proceed.
The club will soon be sending out an email with a link for a survey regarding some possible additional programming. Please take a moment to complete and let us know what you think of the ideas.
Again, thank you for your patience as we navigate our way through the current crisis. We will be in touch with you as soon as we have more information to share.
Please remember that all fields are closed at the soccer plex until further notice.
Thank You,
Bethlehem Soccer Club
