Peek at the Week in Project Extra

Cami Webb

Thank you!

I can not believe this year is over! I can not thank you enough for sharing your students with me this year and taking this journey with me! It was a big change after 23 years in the regular classroom and then compile the change with all of the family issues that I had to face this year. I appreciate your patience and kindness. I have loved every minute and you have some amazing kiddos!!! I have laughed, cried, and loved all of their crazy, amazing ideas!!!

I will probably send some newsletters over the summer just to let you know of camps or special events going on that I think the kids might enjoy. The University of Missouri offers a ton of stuff over the summer. For those interested in drama and music, check out the TRYPS site for summer camps. William Woods also does art camps over the summer so you might check out their site as well.

I look forward to next year and have a wonderful summer!!!!!!!

What a Week!!

8th grade went on their field trip and I had the pleasure of joining them.

6th/7th grade - NWEA stole some of our time this week but the kids did work on their canvas projects and they are amazing!!! They are also planning a wonderful surprise for their 8th-grade friends!!!!

5th grade - They experienced the culture of Mexico with a Cinco De Mayo escape room!

3rd/4th grade - We had our last day for the year and a wonderful day at the park and then to Saults for ice cream!!

Walking Trip to the Park and Downtown ( see calendar)

We are just going to enjoy our last day and hopefully, the weather cooperates. If the kids could all bring sack lunches that day and we will walk to the park that is down from the Middle School to eat lunch and play. Then after lunch, we will walk downtown and head to Saults for ice cream or a shake. Kids should need no more than $5. If any parents would like to join us, we would love to have you!! If the weather is bad we will stay at FMS.

Asynch Behavior - Creative Thinking & Using Your Knowledge

For the next couple of weeks, we are going to focus on creative thinking and using and expanding our knowledge. We will reflect on what we have learned and where we would like to go next. We will also look at ways that we can keep our educational roll over the summer. The idea of Use it or Lose it!! I have a couple of websites that I will share with the kids that have daily puzzles, challenge, STEM activities, and Curio Challenges.

http://curious.com is a great one, even for adults. It is individualized for each person and explores a ton of things! Plus it is free!!! It is probably better for 5th grade and up but might work for 3rd and 4th graders as well. I haven't had anyone that young take the quiz to see what it does with it.

Scholastic Book Orders

Several of the elementary kids requested access to the middle school level book orders. They are actually way better and focus on books instead of all of the knick-knack things. I have set up an online store and will also send home flyers. if you have never used the online order it is really easy and then the books will be delivered to me.
