Principal's Message
Hello Wildcat families,
Say goodbye to summer. The countdown to school is officially on! It was wonderful to see so many students and families yesterday at Sneak Preview. I am consistently blown away by how kind and respectful our community is. Thank you for you patience in the carpool tag line and for greeting our staff so warmly. I am grateful to be a part of this incredible school community.
Keep reading to learn more about how you can help make our first day of school run smoothly.
All the best,
Stephanie Haga

Bus Updates
Please be sure to check your bus schedules again this weekend as the district will continue to update the transportation routes and we want to ensure that every student is at the correct stop. If you have a bus change over the weekend, please let your child's homeroom teacher know ASAP so we know the correct bus to send them home on in the afternoon.
Also, you may have noticed that some pick up times are earlier in the morning. This is because there is a shortage of bus drivers and some buses will need to run a second route.
Our district will send out messages with further updates over the weekend.
FCS Transportation Website: Transportation / Department Overview.
To find your child's bus stop, use the link: Bus Stop Location.
The Here Comes the Bus App is an excellent tool to keep you updated on the latest information about your bus transportation. Click on the button below to find instructions on downloading the app.
First Day Drop Off and Transportation Changes
We will allow parents to walk their children to class on the first day of school, but only for drop off. This is not a time to try to talk with the teacher, or get a tour of your child's classroom. If you choose to walk your child in, please hug them at the classroom door and leave. This will help your child more easily transition into the class. All parents must be out of the building by the time the bell rings at 7:40am. Thank you for understanding.
Also, at Sneak Preview you will let your child's teacher know how they will be going home the first day and then how they will go home for the rest of the year. If you change your child's transportation method after this point you will need to print and send in a Change of Dismissal form for your child to bring to the front office. Please do not email change of dismissal forms to the teacher. The teacher may be absent, or too busy teaching to see the email.
Carpool Reminders
Below are ways you can keep the line moving:
- Have your child get out of the car as soon as your car stops once you have passed the sign near the sidewalk indicating it is ok for students to unload. We will have staff members waiting to receive your children.
- Have your child ready to get out when the car stops. If you need to brush your child's hair or share words of wisdom for the day, please do this before you reach the drop-off point.
- Do not pass other cars in the line. This is a real safety issue.
Afternoon Carpool:
We are changing our afternoon carpool procedures this year to speed up the process. In the afternoon their will be orange cones numbered 1-8. Students will report to a numbered cone for pick up. When you arrive in the afternoon, please pull all the way up to the orange cone. Staff will be their to help direct you so please follow their directions.
Parents must display their child's carpool tag(s) in the afternoon. Please make sure these are easily visible to our staff. The numbers ensure the safety of your child and also help us organize students for pick up. The photo below shows one way parents with multiple kids have found to easily display the numbers.
If you were unable to attend Sneak Peek, your child's homeroom teacher should have emailed you a carpool number. On the first day of school only, you may write your child's carpool number on a piece of paper and display it in the windshield during afternoon carpool. The actual carpool tag will be sent home with your child on Monday afternoon and will be required for pickup thereafter.
Milestones Scores Released
I will share an update on our schoolwide performance in the next Wildcat News. If you have any difficulty accessing your child's report, please email Heidi Mueller muellerh@fultonchools.org.
Parent Portal
Please ensure you set up your parent portal to receive teacher emails. There is an icon on the Fulton County Schools website as well as the individual school’s websites to access Infinite Campus Parent Portal and information on how to set up an account. Infinite Campus / Program Overview
If you need your student id number, please email Heidi Mueller at muellerh@fultonschools.org.
Please be aware that all students will be active on 8/8/2022 so if you have tried to set up an account and had problems logging in, please try again Monday. If still unable to log-in, then email Heidi Mueller.
Also, it is imperative we have at least one (1) emergency contact in the event we cannot reach you. Please know it does not have to be a family member as a friend and/or neighbor information is fine. Please update your students record in Infinite Campus via a census update.
