What Are We Learning- Week 11

Reader's & Writer's Workshop- Poet's Celebration

1.8 Reading/Comprehension of Literary Text/Poetry. Students understand, make inferences and draw conclusions about the structure and elements of poetry and provide evidence from text to support their understanding. Students are expected to

(A) respond to and use rhythm, rhyme, and alliteration in poetry

Please join us on Tuesday from 8:30-9:30AM in the cafeteria for our 2nd anual Poet's Tea. You will get to hear many 1st graders read or recite and original poem. We have studied a variety of structures, literary devices, and poetic language. This is sure to be a fun time for all. You will have the opportunity to take your child with you afterwards if you would like to go out to a celabratory brunch/lunch or just have a special day together. Please make sure to sign your child out with me. Remaining students will spend the rest of the day with me!!!
