Library with Ms. Jaquess
We are so excited to have the library open to our readers once again. Our library is a community space shared by every member of our school. Students in grades K-5 visit the library on a scheduled weekly basis. Students in grades 6-8 visit the library bi-weekly or flexibly as needed.
Throughout the school year King Arts students will learn to access, evaluate and use both print and electronic information available in D65 and through our public libraries. For more information on our library please visit the King Arts Library webpage.
Dance with Ms. Sheehan
Welcome to the Dance studio!
Dancing together has been so rewarding. It has been exciting to see how much vocabulary and practice was taken in over Zoom. We return to the stage and practice physical distancing while dancing together. This is a photo of the stage set for Dance Class. Have your child show you their “home spot”. Green Line, White Line, Yellow Line or Red Line?
Visual Arts with Ms. Vega
Drama with Ms. Querciagrossa and Ms. Szczepaniak
Ask your child where their personal creative space is in our studio and what stories and activities they have been exploring each week. Ask your child if they can tell you one of their actor's warm up activities that they do each week.
Check out the King Arts Drama Website for more information and a gallery of activities.
Music with Mr. Smith
It’s been great to be back in the Music studio playing instruments together after all this time! Mustang musicians have been playing instruments such as ukulele, guitar, drum kit, bass guitar, piano, djembes, and of course – Boomwhackers! Here is the King Arts general music room.
Music with Ms. Weinman
Orchestra with Mr. Carrillo
I look forward to working with students in person this year and working on the skills to make them better musicians and technicians on their instruments. We have some of the largest numbers in the orchestra King Arts has ever had. Most lessons are starting the week of September 27th.
If you have not received emails from Mr. Carrillo please contact him directly to make sure you are on the orchestra roster (carrillor@district65.net). If you have other questions, please look at Mr.Carrillo’s website: http://carrillomusic.weebly.com/
Media Art with Ms. Wernecke
Welcome to the Media Arts/Art Studio! We’re so glad to be working and learning together in person with all of our students! We continue to be busy brushing-up on art elements and techniques, learning about art history and experimenting with different tools and materials. The positive energy and hard work shown by students is helping all of us to start the school year off right!
Band with Ms. Church
Welcome back to in person Band for 21-22! All elementary and middle school band classes are now underway! It is so wonderful to be back at school and making music again. Band schedules are emailed to families every week, and middle school students can find them posted in their band google classrooms. Look for additional rehearsal information to be sent out soon! Please reach out to Amy Church at churcha@district65.net with any questions.
