Academic & Social Emotional Growth

Our goal at Meadowview is for our students to grow academically, socially and emotionally. The reading, writing, and math curriculum we use with all students builds academic skills. The curriculum for social emotional skills we used is called Second Step. Academically, we use iReady to assess. Students just completed the winter benchmark and teachers will be discussing your child's results during parent teacher conferences. Social emotional growth, while a little harder to quantify, is just as important. Students will be taking the benchmark assessments for social emotional growth in mid February. If there are anomalies, you will be hearing from your child's teacher or our social worker.

State Assessments

There are state assessments that we are mandated to use with our students. Right now, our English Language learners are taking ACCESS. We know they are giving their very best effort to show all they know! In April, all our students in grades 3-6 will be taking the new state test called Illinois Assessment of Readiness. The PDF I've attached will give you more information. When we have the specific dates, I will communicate them to you!

Happy Birthday to our January Celebrants!

Meadowview Receives Grant

At the January Village Board meeting, Meadowview School received a $2000 grant from Illinois American Water as part of our permeable paver driveway project. Mrs. Maggie Nickels was at the board meeting to receive the check for Meadowview. We will be using the money to order and install educational signage that highlights the eco-friendly features of our recently installed permeable pavers at Meadowview School.
