Welcome to the 2021-2022 School Year!

Please stop by Berlin Elementary to drop off school supplies and locate your child's classroom. Pre-K will have their own orientation day on Wednesday, September 8th. Masks must be worn while in the school building.

* Please note - Our building has been under construction all summer and some rooms may not be completely set up on Friday. Our teachers are working hard to get things ready under the circumstances.

School Begins Tuesday, September 7th for all students in Grades K-5. Pre-K students will follow the schedule that was sent in the mail.

Dear BES Families,

Welcome to a new school year! We are so excited to have all of our students back in person for five days a week this year. We have many new families who have moved into our district and we are excited to welcome you to our school community.

I will send this newsletter monthly to help keep you informed of all events and information regarding BES. I will occasionally send emails, or School Messenger calls to remind you of important information. I can always be reached by email as well.

I am looking forward to a great year of teaching and learning.

Important Dates to Remember

September 7 - First day of school for Grades K-5

September 8 - Pre-K Orientation (Please see the schedule mailed to you for your time)

September 9 & 10 - School begins for Pre-K on assigned day

September 10 - Green & Gold Day

September 14 - BES PTO Meeting in the library @ 6:30 pm

October 5 - School Picture Day

Student Drop Off/Pick Up by car

Student Drop Off

  • Student drop off begins at 8:50 am and runs through 9:05 am. Students will not be allowed to enter the building prior to 8:50am. Please do not drop off prior to this time.

  • All vehicles must enter from the south end of the building at South East Hollow. You will turn left into the drop off lane from SE Hollow (as you enter from Route 22) that runs parallel to the building.

  • Please stay in line and move forward until you are near the front of the line.

  • Staff members will greet two cars at a time and allow students to exit the vehicle. Parents should remain in their vehicle.

  • Staff members will be on hand to walk students to the building.

  • Pull forward and exit on the north end of the building.

Please help the line move quickly by having your child ready to exit the car as you approach our staff.

Student Pick Up

  • Students pick up begins at 3:00 pm.

  • Parents should arrive and park in the open parking spots. We are opening up many more spots for parent parking.

  • Please exit your vehicle, walk to the sidewalk and wait in line (please socially distance) to pick up your child.

  • A staff member will call for your child and ask you to sign them out.

We implemented these procedures last school year and they really helped to streamline arrival and dismissal. Thank you parents for your cooperation.

School Transportation

The Transportation Department is currently finalizing bus runs and will be sending out an email no later than 9/1/2021 with bus numbers and pick up and drop off times. If you do not receive an email by 9/1 or have questions please contact Layla Davis - 518-658-2812 or

Berlin Elementary PTO

Please join us on the second Tuesday of each month for the Berlin Elementary PTO meetings. Meetings are held in the school library.

Our PTO does so much to help support our students and teachers. Please consider joining. If you are unable to attend a meeting but would be interested in volunteering for events throughout the school year, please send an email to
