Beautiful Messages from our Students
Dear TES Families,
We are very excited to hear about the many projects your children engage in this weekend as a part of our school-wide Let Grow program at TES, and we can't wait to see how much our students grow in 2021! We encourage families to get involved and participate. You can read more about it below.
In this newsletter you will also find some important health-related reminders, particularly about our health screener, quarantine lengths, and travel considerations, as well as other upcoming events.
We appreciate all you do for your children and our school!
Sincerely,
Katie Lemerich
Principal
Important Health Reminders
Travel Guidelines
For the health and safety reasons of all, we ask that families read and follow the state's guidance regarding travel and quarantining. Please understand that in grades K-4, coordination of remote learning for discretionary travel purposes may not be the most developmentally appropriate option for a child and may also cause strain on the system if we have students who need to quarantine for COVID-related exposures or illnesses.
Health Screener
Please continue to complete your daily health screener by 8:00 AM each day your child attends in-person learning at TES.
Sick Policy
While you continue to complete a health screener that is specific to COVID-19, please know that regular illness exclusion guidelines apply. For the health and safety of our school, if your child has a fever of 100.4 within the past 24 hours without the use of medicine, was vomiting or had diarrhea in the past 24 hours, has chills, has a sore throat, has a bad cold, has conjunctivitis, has difficult or noisy breathing, has strep throat (must have been taking an antibiotic for at least 24 hours before returning to school), or has a new rash, please keep them home for the day, even if they are able to pass the COVID-19 health screener.
Health-Related Questions/Concerns/Absences
All health-related questions, concerns, or absences for your child should be directed to our school nurse, Mrs. Page, at 908-832-2594 x2011 or gpage@tewksburyschools.org.

Let Grow - January 30-January 31, 2021
This weekend is the first of our monthly LET GROW program weekends here at TES as an opportunity to grow our students' independence, resilience, and ability to persevere. Please read about the program here. We encourage you to have your child “do something on their own for the first time." For some ideas to help you think about an activity your child may engage in, take a look at this list. Parental support of this program is essential. Your children can add the activity they engaged in to a building block and bring them into school. They will help add to a school-wide structure we will build with building blocks to show how much we have grown in 2021! We also encourage families to post their child's project on our school's community Padlet here. We look forward to watching our students grow!
