PRESIDENT Tarina DeRito
As we start the new semester I want to tell you all how amazing you are!
Not only are you wonderful humans who do cool things but you're also killin' it as Kappa Deltas!
Nationals has noticed and we were recognized as one of the most improved chapters at Convention!
Sooooo, keep up the good work, keep attendance high and spirits higher and maybe next biennium we can be honored not only as most improved but also as most awesome in every way!!!
Peace, love, syllabi, and AOT,
P.S. Check out Alexis' announcements for another reason y'all are great!

New News: Just to get these dates on your radar, council elections are going to be October 25th and the mandatory new council retreat is on November 21st (this is the weekend before Thanksgiving so if you're running for a position and need to book flights home keep this in mind).
Reminder: Appointed Officer Transition Meeting is scheduled for Labor Day Monday(September 7th) from 11:00-12:30. Don't worry this won't conflict with any KD social festivities (because social prestige, amiright?) And there may be breakfast treats! Please let your chain of command head and me know ASAP if you will not be in attendance.
SO MUCH LOVE IN AOT,

September is International Women's Friendship Month, which is created in 1999 by Kappa Delta and celebrates friendship between women. if you have a cute, high-quality picture of you and a friend in another sorority on campus (including MGLC), please send it to me (mc2225) with a quote about friendship and you could be featured on our Facebook page! :^)
also just a beginning of the year reminder to keep your social media clean and positive #WWLD
peace, love, orzo,
VP STANDARDS Madeline Miceli
I hope everyone's first week was up to their standards (lol)! I want to thank everyone who sobered for the sisterhood this weekend at mixers. Everyone is encouraged to sober at least one mixer each semester. If you do not sober, your name will remain in the sober pool, a tool I have been using to choose sobers for big events like slope day, crush/formal/date nights.
Please let me know if you would like to volunteer to sober the mixers this week: Thursdaynight, Friday night, and Saturday day. A sober sister is required to attend the entire mixer, that is, as long as kds remain at the event, help out in case of any emergencies. Remember there is also the option of sober driving as well (*sober driving does not remove your name from the sober pool). It is really important that you let me know you are sobering as well as sign up on the mixer google doc (provided for by our socials).
READ THIS PLEASE: There have been at least two SERIOUS date rape drug incidents this past week. Please be EXTREMELY aware of this danger when you are party hopping in college town or around different frat houses on north. Do NOT accept drinks from strangers and do NOT put your cups down even for one second. Please watch out for each other and other partygoers (women and/or men).
THURSDAY - Mixer with Pi Kapp 10PM @ the house THEME: White Wine Whiteout! Wear as much as you can that's white before Labor Day!
FRIDAY - Mixer with Lambda 10PM @ the house THEME: TBD
SATURDAY - Backyard Wine tour with Llenroc 2PM @ the house instead of getting on buses and having to drive all over Ithaca, Llenroc has invited us for a "wine tour' in their backyard (which is beautiful)! So theme is wine tour!
SUNDAY- Mixer with Chi Phi 10PM @ the house THEME: TBD
MONDAY - BBQ with Sigep (Time to be determined) @ the house
We need 3 sobers for each of these awesome events to happen, if interested, contact the lovely Madeline Miceli! Sign up here and remember it's a marathon, not a sprint.
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE Alexis Cousins
I am beyond ECSTATIC to hear that Kappa Delta now has the 5th highest GPA!!!!! among Cornell sororities (and 4th among Panhellenic Sororities) when we were in 10th place last fall. This is AMAZING and I am so proud of all of you for stepping up our academic game!!!
Also, be sure to still refer to this spreadsheet for textbook sharing and big lecture classes:
